Putin’s high-tech weapon

Did THIS vacation photo destroy Putin’s high-tech weapon?

The Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula is a popular vacation destination for many Russians. But in wartime, even a beach photo can have destructive consequences.

According to media reports, Ukraine has destroyed a state-of-the-art air defense system in Crimea. A tourist allegedly gave away the location of the high-tech weapon, according to social media.

The S-400 Triumf air defense system was hit in the drone attack near the major city of Yevpatoriya, Ukrajinska Pravda reported Thursday, citing a source at Ukraine’s intelligence service.

According to the report, drones first switched off the system’s radar, leaving it virtually blind. Neptune missiles are said to have subsequently destroyed the defensive weapon.

According to the reports, the high-tech weapon costs the equivalent of 1.1 billion euros, while other sources put its value at around half that. The Russian military has so far not confirmed the hit, but only reported the downing of eleven drones.
