America Deserves Trump

Despite what partisan propagandists would have us all believe, the perverse mockery of the Constitution they have made comes down to one thing only: money. Both the Democrats and Republicans are profit-driven brands desperate to increase revenues. Each is run by members who have convinced themselves that anything goes so long as it gives their team more power.

American society has always been a fake, a shroud of meritocratic propaganda obscuring the vicious class system that infests American pop culture. A small number of wealthy and powerful taste makers use the media to create a vision of reality that conveniently bakes in their ideological assumptions about how it works.

Basically, a bunch of snobs try to tell everyone else what is right and wrong. Like every religious organization since the dawn of time, a few influential people act as high priests. They impose a kind of groupthink on anyone forced to associate with them — and if you don’t think that this spills over into professional and political matters I’ve got a secret empire in Siberia I’d be willing to sell for a bargain price (the solar powered drones are already making their slow, patient hop towards the Kremlin as we speak, so the property has served its purpose — see you soon, Putin!)
